Celebrating the Restorative Power of Nature
Since the 1980s, the Folk Medicine Festival has been a treasured tradition in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee—born from a desire to preserve the natural wisdom, creative spirit, and cultural richness that define our region. This one-day, family-friendly event returns on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and we warmly invite you to join us.
Hosted in the heart of our historic mineral springs town, the festival offers a full day of music, craft, heritage demonstrations, local food, and holistic healing traditions—a living tribute to the folkways that have sustained generations in small towns like ours.

9:00 AM – Festival Opens

- 🌱 Jeff Poppen, Tennessee’s Barefoot Farmer, presents on Biodynamic Farming, followed by a Q&A
10:00 AM – Music Continues

- 🌿 Herb Walk with Juanita Dodson
10:30 AM – Speaker Spotlight
- 😂 Debra Norwood, the “Laughter Lawyer,” shares The Joy of Resilience—a heartwarming session of laughter therapy, breathing exercises, and stories of growing up with a folklorist mother who studied medicinal plants
12:00 Noon – Midday Experiences
- 🎶 Faith Gomez & Josh Keas take the stage
- 🍄 Mushroom Growing & Foraging with Robert & Emily Jones—learn how to cultivate and identify edible mushrooms native to our region
2:00 PM – Afternoon Activities

- 🎶 Closing music with T.J. Watson, Lauren Rose, Josh Hogan & Brent Johnson
